Frequently Asked Questions

Here, you’ll find answers...

to the most common questions about ADHD coaching, psychiatric care, and what it’s like to work with Jill at Planting Seeds.

Whether you’re curious about diagnoses, wondering if this space is for you, or need help deciding between coaching and med support—we’ve got you.

And if you don’t see your question here? No pressure—just reach out anytime. We’re happy to help you figure it out, one step at a time.

01

Do I need an ADHD diagnosis to work with you?

Nope. Whether you’re formally diagnosed, self-identified, or just ADHD-ish—you’re welcome here. Jill works with people who are tired of struggling alone, with or without a label.

02

What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?

Coaching is future-focused and tool-based—it helps you build systems, habits, and emotional resilience.
Therapy often dives deeper into past trauma, emotional processing, and clinical healing.
Jill offers both, depending on your needs, and meets you where you are.

03

What demographic do you work with?

I work with a wide range of clients across the lifespan—including children, teens, and adults—but most of my practice centers around adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, trauma, recovery, and major life transitions.

I often support college students, teachers, healthcare workers, creatives, parents, queer folks, and late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults—people who’ve been told to “just try harder” when what they really needed was support that fits their brain.

Whether you’re newly diagnosed, feeling stuck, or just looking for tools that work in real life, this space was made with you in mind.

04

I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t help. Is this different?

Yes—Jill offers supportive psychotherapy as part of your overall treatment plan when needed. Her approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and designed to complement medication management.

If you’re already working with a primary therapist, she’s happy to coordinate care and support the progress you’re making. If not, she can integrate therapeutic support into your sessions as appropriate. A full therapy team is in the works—so stay tuned!

05

Do you take insurance?

Yes! Jill currently accepts

  • Aetna

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts

  • CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield

  • Carelon Behavioral Health

  • Cigna

  • Oscar (Optum)

  • Oxford (Optum)

  • Quest Behavioral Health

  • United Healthcare (Optum)

If you're with a different provider, you can request a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

06

Can I use my HSA/FSA card?

Yes—services may be eligible. Check with your provider to confirm.

07

Do you write letters for school or workplace accommodations?

Yes—after we’ve built a clinical relationship and completed an appropriate evaluation.

08

Where do sessions take place?

Services are currently provided via:

  • Secure telehealth: All clinical services are conducted via HIPAA-compliant platforms to protect your privacy.

    • You’ll receive a private virtual link after scheduling

  • In-person at our Annapolis location

09

What if I miss a session?

Life happens. We get it. You’ll receive session reminders, and we ask that you give 24 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee. That said, we’ll always do our best to reschedule if something comes up.

10

How do I know if this is the right fit?

You’re encouraged to ask questions during your initial evaluation—no pressure, no commitment. Jill will talk through your needs, offer honest guidance, and help you figure out the best path forward, whether that’s with her or somewhere else. You're never obligated to continue care if it doesn't feel like the right match.

11

Is this a good fit if I’m in recovery?

Yes. Jill has extensive experience supporting folks in or post-rehab, and the ADHD Coaching Cohort especially welcomes individuals navigating life after substance use treatment. Trauma, neurodivergence, and recovery often intersect—and we meet you right there.

12

Can I see you for both medication and coaching?

In many cases, yes. If it makes sense clinically and logistically, Jill can provide both. We'll talk about what balance works best for your goals and make sure it feels supportive—not overwhelming.

13

Can I join the cohort if I’m already in therapy elsewhere?

Absolutely. This group is designed to complement the work you may already be doing with a therapist or provider—not replace it. Collaboration is always welcomed (with your permission).

14

How does scheduling work?

Clinical clients will use Tebra for scheduling, charting, and secure communication. Private-pay clients will be invoiced directly via Stripe.
